On Saturday\, December 3rd\, merchants will be armed with entertainment\, samples\, snacks\, refreshments\, special sales\, raffles and more during the Holiday Merchant Open House. Make sure you go into the season well prepared by taking advantage of this special event\; it's the perfect place for inspiration and acquisition of all your holiday needs. Whether you're shopping for that must have gift or those little\, but necessary stocking stuffers\, you can find it all downtown Charlevoix this holiday season.\n\n\n\nLIVE LIFE LOCAL - SHOP LOCAL CONTEST\n\nThe Open House is a great opportunity to Shop Small and support your local businesses during the holidays. The Charlevoix Main Street Program is offering the Live Life Local Shopping Contest. Spend $50 in downtown stores (receipts may be combined) from November 25 to December 24 for a chance to with $500\, $300\, or $100 in Chamber Checks. For details visit www.charlevoixmainstreet.org.\n\n\n\nSANTA CLAUS\n\n11:30am - 1:30pm - Charlevoix Cinema III\n\nIn addition to the great sales\, Santa will be escorted through town on a City Fire Truck at approximately 11:15am. Bring your little ones downtown to wave at Santa as he goes by. Santa will be dropped off at Charlevoix Cinema III where he will stay and visit from 11:30am to 1:30pm. There is no fee for your child to visit with Santa and have a treat. \n\n\n\nFREE MOVIE: The Secret Life of Pets\n\n2:00pm - Charlevoix Cinema III \n\nChildren are invited to watch The Secret Life of Pets\, a free full-length movie at Charlevoix Cinema III sponsored by Charlevoix State Bank. For entry\, please bring a canned good to benefit the Charlevoix Food Pantry. While children enjoy the movie\, parents are able to relax\, sample and shop at the Open House without interruption.\n\nHOT COCOA CONTEST \n\nNoon - 5:00pm - Downtown Businesses\n\nDon't miss the 2016 Hot Cocoa Contest.  Area restaurants invite you to sample and vote on your favorite hot cocoa.  Cocoa stations will be set up at participating downtown stores and restaurants.  Just look for the "Cocoa Trail" posters in the store-front windows to sample and vote for your favorite Hot Chocolate creation.
