This session is being co-sponsored by the Char-Em United Way. One of the most critical success factors for every nonprofit organization is its Board of Directors. Whether you are an experienced Board Member or new to a Board assignment, understanding your fiduciary roles and responsibilities and current practices in the nonprofit field is critical to the long term viability of the organization you serve. This session examines how nonprofit governance is changing to address intensifying and complex social, legislative and economic demands. We'll discuss the changing requirements for serving on a Board, how you can help increase the performance of your Board and how you can ensure you have an meaningful Board experience. You'll also learn how to leverage the talents and critical thinking of the Board to strengthen the nonprofit's capacity and ability to grow and thrive.
