Harbor Springs Summer Friends Lectures Series Presents: Maureen Abood, A Taste of the Lebanese Table. Maureen Abood cooks, writes, and photographs her award-winning food blog, Rose Water & Orange Blossoms, in Harbor Springs. Join us to share in a taste of life as a food writer, as well as the ingredients, flavors, techniques, and recipes of her specialty, Lebanese cuisine (treats will be served!). Her heritage and fresh Lebanese recipes are inspired by her family culinary tradition, as well as the robust seasonal offerings of Northern Michigan. Maureen trained at Tante Marie's Cooking School in San Francisco in 2011 after leaving her corporate job in Chicago of many years. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Literature, and her food writing has been appeared in all kinds of places, including Saveur, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, The Huffington Post, Traverse Magazine, Gastronomica, NPR's The Salt, and each month in The Harbor Light. Her book, Rose Water & Orange Blossoms, will be released in spring of 2015 by Running Press.
