On January 7th, 1971, a B-52 bomber blew up in midair eleven flight seconds away from the Big Rock Nuclear Plant. Join the Charlevoix Historical Society aboard the Keweenaw Star as retired Petoskey Professor Rick Wiles takes us out to Big Rock Point and the site of a local plane crash that made worldwide headlines. A beautiful sunset and breathtaking scenery will accompany the narration of Rick Wiles, who will shine some light on this exciting Lake Michigan mystery!

Boarding at the Keweenaw Star dock, adjacent to the Beaver Island boat dock.

Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Boarding at 6:15, cruise lasts from 6:30 to 8:30.

Tickets can be purchased at the Harsha House (103 State Street) or reserved by calling the Charlevoix Historical Society at 231 547 0373. Limited tickets will also be available a the dock the evening of the cruise.
Fees/Admission:
$25 per person, includes one non-alcoholic beverage. Cash bar on board with wine, beer, and snacks.
