Mastering Grantwriting

Time:

Event Description:
This session is being co-sponsored by the Char-Em United Way. As nonprofits are challenged to become more innovative and diversified in their fund development strategies, good old fashioned grants remain a "common" and "important" source of revenue. However, the growth of the nonprofit sector and competition for funding raises new questions and challenges for grant seekers. When pushed to do more with less, nonprofits need to work smarter, not harder, in order to be successful in grant seeking. During this session, we'll review the grant process from identifying grants to writing them. Participants will explore the four primary reasons grant proposals are declined including which elements are within your control and what is simply out of your hands (not much!). We'll analyze the elements that foundations commonly use to evaluate grant requests, and we'll discuss key success factors that are often overlooked. This session is designed for beginning to intermediate practitioners, managers, staff, and board members. Instructor: Pam Evans, MS, CFRM, NorthSky Consultant
