DESCRIPTION:Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra presents Women Composers Night\, at 7 pm on Saturday\, September 23rd\, at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts.\n\n \n\nJoin us for this extraordinary performance showcasing women's contributions to the arts and featuring rising star Karisa Chiu\, violin soloist. Award-winning women whose works will be performed include sought-after living composers Jesse Montgomery and Joan Tower\, as well as legendary Florence Price\, Amanda Rontgen-Maier\, Ethel Smyth\, and Joan Tower.\n\n \n\nConcert tickets include an optional pre-concert talk at 6 pm by Libor Ondras\, as well as a post-concert reception.\n\nTickets from $35 to $65 are available at glcorchestra.org/concerts. The concert is free for veterans\, active service members\, and students 18 and under by calling the GLCO office at 231-487-0010
