Have you ever noticed colorful endpapers inside antique books, showing impossibly intricate patterns? These are original hand-painted papers, often made by European artisans. Part of the book arts, the marbling process dates back to the tenth Century. ? Watch as colorful paint is floated on special fluid. Tools are used to create swirling, complicated-looking patterns, and then a single print is made and lifted out of the bath.
