Job Description
The City of Charlevoix is seeking a full-time Finance Clerk for the Treasurer’s Office. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting/bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and administrative duties.  Public sector/municipal experience would be a plus. The primary job responsibilities will be to:
  • Monitor and process all City of Charlevoix expenditures
  • Bill and track all payments and receivables
  • Process workers compensation claims
  • Assist the Treasurer with financial duties
  • Primary Backup to Assistant Treasurer with payroll duties
  • Assist the City Clerk with administrative duties 
This full-time position comes with an excellent benefit package!  The starting hourly rate will be between $22.06 and $24.06 depending on qualifications. 
The selected candidate will be required to reside within twenty (20) miles of the nearest boundary (as the crow flies) of the City of Charlevoix within 90 days of their date of employment.  The City Manager may allow an additional 90 days for a new employee to comply with residency requirements. If the employee’s spouse is employed by a public employer and a conflicting/competing residency requirement results, this section shall not apply to the City of Charlevoix employee (prohibited by MCL 15.602).
