Job Description
The City of Charlevoix is seeking a full-time Airport Attendant to join the Charlevoix Municipal Airport team. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient ramping and fueling of aircraft, operation of mowing and snow removal equipment, general maintenance of airport facility/property, daily counter sales, and providing quality customer service to pilots, patrons, and other Airport customers. This position requires individual(s) to service business, corporate and personal aircraft, operate and maintain several pieces of mechanized and non-mechanized equipment in an environment that requires attention to detail and adherence to FAA/OSHA/MIOSHA/City safety practices.
The selected candidate will be required to reside within twenty (20) miles of the nearest boundary (as the crow flies) of the City of Charlevoix within 90 days of their date of employment. The City Manager may allow an additional 90 days for a new employee to comply with residency requirements. If the employee’s spouse is employed by a public employer and a conflicting/competing residency requirement results, this section shall not apply to the City of Charlevoix employee (prohibited by MCL 15.602).
Duties involve exertion of physical strength and dexterity and the ability to work in all types of weather conditions. Pay rate is $15.00+ per hour, depending on qualifications.
