About Us
A true family owned business, The Clothing Company has been a mainstay in downtown Charlevoix for over 40 years. As the story goes, Jim Mabee, a Detroit area businessman, fell in love with this little town while passing through on a hunting trip. He and his wife Sue packed up the family and moved north, opening The Clothing Company in 1975. Thankfully the secrets to their success have been passed on to the 3rd generation.
Over the years we have seen many changes in our industry, but we continue to hold true to our mission: Treat your customers like family, provide them with fresh, quality product at a reasonable price, keep the doors open as much as you can and have some fun.
