Event Description:
Baroque on Beaver, a classical music festival held on Beaver Island in Lake Michigan. Baroque on Beaver presents high quality, professional performances of music from all ages, with special concentration on the music of the Baroque period. Concerts include orchestral, choral, solo and chamber repertoire. In 2015 the Festival will celebrate its 14 consecutive season. The Festival dates for 2015 are July 24 through August 2. The centerpiece of the annual festival, the Baroque on Beaver Festival Orchestra, which is comprised of professional talent from orchestras all over Michigan, including Detroit Symphony, Grand Rapids Symphony, Ann Arbor Symphony, Midland Symphony and many more. The Baroque on Beaver Festival Chorus is comprised of talented, volunteer choral singers who fill the ranks of this large chorus who perform with the Baroque on Beaver Festival Orchestra for an annual evening concert. The Baroque on Beaver Chamber Chorale is a small chamber choir of professional singers from around the state of Michigan. This group sings with the Festival Orchestra and in their own afternoon concert.
