Ecoprinting Workshop with Diane Keighley
Eco-printing is a technique which involves bundling leaves, flowers and other plant material in cloth that has been prepared to promote the transfer of tannins in the plant material to the fabric, and then steaming the bundles to create a beautiful print. Students will design two beautiful silk scarves simultaneously – one being the mirror image of the other, 14”x 72”. Plant material will be provided, although students are encouraged to bring leaves of their own. Leaves that print well are sumac, dogwood, red maple, oak, scented geranium, and smoke bush. Fee: $70 - All Supplies Included.
