GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community. We've created a directory to help you find organizations, charities, events and more in your own community.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan
Bigs serves about 400 children annually and is on a mission to increase that number to 600 by 2024 and 1,000 by 2028. In order for Bigs to accomplish this, we need your help! Matching children with caring, adult mentors changes the outcome of their lives. With a donation to Bigs this holiday season, you not only strengthen mentoring relationships, but also begin to reverse the cycle of poverty for the next generation.
All children should have the tools and opportunities to reach their potential, don’t you agree?
Camp Quality Michigan
From November 28th – December 3rd 2019, Camp Quality Michigan Giving Tuesday Campaign has the opportunity to match dollar for dollar each gift from the NSF Foundation. Please help us reach our goal of $5,000 to help children with cancer attend summer camp. Since 1987 Camp Quality Michigan has helped children and their families with quality of life experiences. You can also help us promote the campaign by posting it on our social media.
Char-Em United Way
Char-Em United Way fights for the Health, Education and Financial Stability of every person in our community. One way we achieve this goal is by funding 211 – an information & referral hotline available 24/7 year round by phone, text, chat or web search. The call line is staffed by trained specialists who connect the caller with free and sliding scale resources available in our community. Any unmet needs are reported back to help identify gaps in services, allowing us to guide conversations on community needs. This Giving Tuesday, help our community get connected to all the resources available with one call.
BASES Recovery Center
BASES Recovery Center is participating in the #GivingTuesday by encouraging individuals to participate in our Community Partners Program. For $100 or more, your donation will help us meet the needs of those without the ability to pay through a variety of situations. Each year we have numerous clients and community members request our help in meeting basic needs such as shelter, food, transportation or assistance in covering the expense of our counseling services. Your contribution helps us help them. Participants in our Community Partners Program will be listed in our 2020 brochure available on our website and throughout the community!
Charlevoix Circle of Arts
Support Local Arts this #GivingTuesday by making a contribution to the Charlevoix Circle of Arts! You can join millions of people around the world who give to their favorite charities and causes and make a difference right here in our community by supporting the Circle of Arts this #GivingTuesday. With your help, the Circle can continue to provide opportunities for all ages to experience local art and activities such as dance, music, painting and drawing. Thank you for helping us in our mission to cultivate a more inspired and educated community through the arts!
Charlevoix Area Humane Society
Now is a great time to double your investment in saving the lives of dogs and cats at the Charlevoix Area Humane Society. Your previous support has helped hundreds of animals recover from injuries and illnesses and find forever homes. By donating now, we are able to double your donation, helping
twice as much as ever before. $10 = $20, $50 = $100, etc. Why, because the Charlevoix Area Humane Society has joined the National Giving Tuesday campaign, and we have some generous supporters who will match donations on Tuesday, December 3rd! Please help us take advantage of their bighearted offers and maximize your donation. Your tax-deductible donation, in addition to providing shelter, food and medical care for homeless animals, will make it possible to accomplish two critically needed improvements. First, is to purchase a ventilation system, which we don't have, to curb airborne viruses and keep shelter animals healthy while they wait to be adopted. This would include a new heating and cooling system. Second, to provide an in-house surgical room, making it possible for us to spay and neuter our shelter dogs and cats, which will save tens of thousands of dollars year after year!
