Name: Lifelong Learning: #2 The Health of the Great Lakes: Invasive Species
Date: February 2, 2017
Time: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST
Event Description:
An invasive species is one that is not native and whose introduction causes harm, or is likely to cause harm to Michigan's economy, environment, or human health. MDNR Fisheries research biologist Dave Clapp will present information on the numerous aquatic invasive species (AIS) influencing our Great Lakes, and discuss Michigan's Invasive Species Program, the goal of which is to prevent new introductions, limit the spread of established species, detect and respond to new invasions, and manage and control established species. Depending on availability, the program may include some "hands-on" experience with AIS. Class #2: The Health of the Great Lakes is a series of 3 classes on a common theme. When registering for Class 1 you are also registering for Class 2 and 3. Registration is required. Please register through our website calendar or by contacting us below.
