Thirteenth Annual Margaret Duerr Award Night

The thirteenth annual Margaret Duerr award will be presented to the Charlevoix Council for the Arts/ Waterfront Art Fair for their almost sixty years of community enrichment. Every year the proceeds from the summer art fair are used to fund scholarships and programs for Charlevoix students and to support art in public places. Their generous gifts to the Charlevoix Public Library have included a piano, the display system for the Community Room exhibit wall, the 1927 historic mural painting, and several pieces of original art. Accepting the award and speaking will be Mary Beth McGraw, retired elementary school art teacher and current president of the Charlevoix Council for the Arts/Waterfront Art Fair. She will discuss the vital role the Waterfront Art Fair has played in our community and highlight a few pieces of art from the library’s collection. Please join us on Tuesday, September 20th, at 6:30 pm in the library’s Community Room.
