Event Description:
Join us for the State of the Community luncheon on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Castle Farms from 12-2pm. 

The State of the Community provides attendees an opportunity to learn from community leaders about their successes and upcoming initiatives, as well as specific topics that are timely and insightful to businesses and the Charlevoix community.

Speakers for this event: 

Mike Ritter, Superintendent, Charlevoix Public Schools

Charlevoix is proud to be home to a strong public school system that provides academic and extracurricular excellence, and a community that reaches far beyond the classroom. Hear from CPS Superintendent Mike Ritter on the state of our public schools, from enrollment to future planning, and the continued navigation through the COVID-19 pandemic 

Scott Hankins, County Commissioner, Charlevoix County
The Charlevoix County commissions, boards and committees work to support the three cities, one village, and fifteen townships within their jurisdiction through various programs and services. Representing District 5, Commissioner Scott Hankins will provide an update on County projects, initiatives, funding and more. 

Dennis Halverson, President, Antrim-Charlevoix-Kalkaska Association of REALTORS
Housing markets across the country have changed rapidly over the past year and a half, and Charlevoix’s is no different.  Dennis Halverson, President of our local realtor association, will share current trends and the future outlook of the industry, and touch on the role it plays in the viability of a community.

David Emmel, President, Northern Lakes Economic Alliance 
Tasked with cross-county economic development support, the Northern Lakes Economic Alliance provides resources for Antrim, Charlevoix, and Cheboygan county communities and entrepreneurs. With workforce development a top barrier to current growth, President David Emmel will share their organization's work in charting the course for growing our region workforce.
