Job Description
Working Hours 
1st shift: Monday - Thursday, 6:30am - 5:00pm 
 
Summary
The Material Handler will move materials to and from storage and work stations through proper selection and use of material handling equipment such as power lift truck, hand truck, pallets, racks and hand tools such as a hammer, banding equipment, etc. Load and unload trucks as needed. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
To follow basic written and/or oral instructions from the supervisor and/or lead person
To communicate and work with various departments as required to determine needs  
To move parts, assemblies, blanks and pallets to and from locations and work stations as required to maintain normal production flow  
Use judgment in determining the placement and movement of materials and band materials for storage or shipping as required
Use system to make warehouse transfers when moving materials and finished goods 
To help maintain correct inventory by picking or transferring material or parts in a timely manner  
Maintain storage areas in a clean, orderly manner
Fill out daily maintenance check report on power lift truck
Load and unload semi-trailers as needed along with moving bunks of raw board as needed
Assist with assembly line set up and tear down as needed
Knowledge of facility locations to enable transfer of warehouse goods where needed properly
The employee is to follow and enforce all company, shop and safety rules and regulations
Other duties may be assigned at any time
 
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED or Equivalent
The role requires intermediate level math and communication skills
Valid Michigan driver’s license, valid lift truck license, CDL only when required in special circumstances by company  
1-2 years of general work experience required, with preference placed on work in a manufacturing environment
