Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council invites the public to join the conversation around septic system health in Northern Michigan as part of its Ice Breaker Winter Speaker Series. On January 30 from noon to 1 p.m., Scott Kendzierski, director of Environmental Health Services at the Health Department of Northwest Michigan, will be presenting on septic system functioning and maintenance, and how failing septic systems can be a health threat. “I think it’s an opportunity for people to have a better understanding of wastewater systems in general, and the threat to the environment when they’re not maintained properly,” said Kendzierski of his upcoming talk.
