Currey Farms Pure Maple Syrup
For 5 generations, our family has been tapping into Michigan's abundant resource of maple trees. Each spring, when outside temperatures rise above freezing during the days & fall below at night, we work hard to gather the clear, sweet, natural sap that flows freely. Then we boil it over a wood fire until the water evaporates & all that remains is the golden delicious product that's one of nature's finest gifts.
Our family farm in Charlevoix was purchased in 1972, but it wasn't until 2005 that our maple syrup business sprang to life. Since then, it has been our full-time occupation. Buckets used by past generations have been replaced by systems of tubing. Work done by horse drawn wagons once used for sap collection is now accomplished by vacuum pumps. Our operation is more efficient now & protects the forest floor. We currently have 9,000 taps & make about 3,000 gallons of syrup per year.
We have a diverse marketing plan. We are proud to be part of the Charlevoix Farmer's Market & Charlevoix's Applefest each year & to supply American Spoon with all the syrup they sell in their stores. We fill orders all over the US through our website. We supply Henry Ford Hospital with the maple syrup they serve their patients & the chefs use in their kitchens. We mail syrup every 2 weeks to a wonderful restaurant in Girdwood, AK and a Food Distributor in L.A. Syrup is also available at our farm on Barnard Rd during the season or by appointment. Our goal is to make the best maple syrup in Michigan! We love what we do & we treasure the relationships we have with our customers.
